Ella is a PhD student in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine and Sciences at King’s College London. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at Durham University, where she investigated the protein structure and substrate binding of a family of pseudouridine synthases. She also studied abroad for a year at KU Leuven in Belgium. Next, Ella started her master’s degree in Precision Medicine: Genomic Data Science at the University of Leeds, where she built longitudinal molecular ageing clocks using omics data. Currently, Ella’s doctoral research focuses on understanding the development of atherosclerotic plaques using an integrated workflow of single-cell RNA sequencing, proteomics and spatial RNA sequencing data.
