Yuju is a PhD student in the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology, based at St. Thomas’ hospital. Under the supervision of Dr Mario Falchi and Dr Helen Alexander, and in collaboration with industry partner Vichy Laboratoires, her project focuses on identifying the genetic and environmental factors of skin ageing through the development of a facial image classification model and multi-omics analysis using TwinsUK data.
Before joining the EPSRC DRIVE-Health PhD programme, she completed a BSc degree in Molecular Biotechnology at Universiteit Gent, followed by an MSc in Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Imperial College London, driven by her primary academic interest in the computational applications of biomedical data.
Prior to her PhD, Yuju worked as a Data Scientist in the healthcare consulting industry, where she helped design statistical analysis plans and performed patient and drug administration data analysis. She also worked as a Research Data Scientist at UCL, focusing on developing multimodal learning frameworks to classify HPV-status in head and neck cancer patients.
